Rajant Corporation to Present the Future of Mobile Broadband and Wireless Communications at 2011 Military Wireless Conference
Rajant SVP Gary Anderson will present a session on
“Tactical Smartphones and Bandwidth Augmentation”
Malvern, PA – Nov. 14, 2011 – At this week’s
Military Wireless
conference in Las Vegas,
Rajant Corporation
,
the pioneer of Kinetic Mesh Networks and provider of pervasive, multi-frequency wireless solutions, will present an informative session detailing how Kinetic Mesh Networking technology is revolutionizing military communication – both static and mobile.
The conference, to be held November 15-17 at Harrah’s Las Vegas, 3475 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, gathers many of the senior government and industry experts who are identifying the requirements and developing the wireless capabilities of the future. On Wednesday, November 16th from 2:40 to 3:15 PM, Rajant Senior Vice President Gary Anderson will present, “Tactical Smartphones and Bandwidth Augmentation.”
Specific military applications of Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh technology include convoy communications, perimeter security, surveillance, UAV applications, man-portable and PAN, instant high-bandwidth net, video monitoring, sensor aggregation and vehicle-communications on the move.
“Envision a scenario involving multiple convoy vehicles, with both the lead and rear vehicles connected to the command post through a satellite uplink,” said Rajant’s Anderson. “Kinetic Mesh technology linking these and the remaining vehicles ensures that voice, video and data communications remain on the localized network – even if some of the satellite-equipped vehicles are compromised. By complementing either satellite or microwave link, and providing resilient, reliable broadband connectivity, Kinetic Mesh networking ensures safety and survival in remote battlefield operations.”
Military and defense personnel continually grapple with the complexities of setting up and maintaining broadband communications in a dynamic tactical and mobile Concept of operations (ConOps). Specifically developed for rugged terrains and harsh physical conditions, Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh Networking technology and InstaMesh protocol support mission-critical communications even in the most hostile environments. The emerging market for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications may seem very futuristic for the general wireless market, but typical V2V scenarios have been commonplace in military applications. In theaters of operation, coalition forces depend on resilient communications between moving convoy vehicles.
The powerful flexibility of Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh Networking technology also can be applied to virtually any remote or offshore critical infrastructure where a broadband data and communications capability is needed. For example, a cluster of Rajant BreadCrumb nodes situated on a group of wells, pipelines or drilling platforms, could be readily connected via satellite transponder to satisfy a full range of voice, video and data communications needs.
