BC Commander – Confident Control of Your
Kinetic Mesh Network
BC|Commander is Rajant’s network management software package used for monitoring the status of Kinetic Mesh networks formed using Rajant BreadCrumb wireless network nodes and InstaMesh routing technology. Using BC|Commander, administrators can configure the BreadCrumbs and graphically depict the network topology.
Available for workstations running either Microsoft Windows or Linux, BC|Commander establishes secure, encrypted links to each network node, providing point-and-click BreadCrumb configuration, RF status for mesh and client links, wireless client display, and a real-time view of network topology. Client link security can also be configured up to WPA2-Enterprise through BC|Commander administrative tool to provide a graphical view of the entire BreadCrumb network.

BCAPI – BreadCrumb Application Programming Interface
To provide an added measure of flexibility and customization for customers who require specialized applications on their Kinetic Mesh networks, Rajant offers its BreadCrumb Application Program Interface (BCAPI). The Java-based BCAPI manages configuration and reads the state of any BreadCrumb wireless network node. Leveraging the BCAPI, users can develop customized management and monitoring applications – from graphical displays, configuration utilities and alarms, and data management apps.
BCAPI applications include:
Graphical Display Applications—Show network topology, connections, maps and parameters such as channel, signal strength, connection, security, etc.
Configuration and Alarm Applications—Set BreadCrumb configurations and create alarms or other functionality based on configurable thresholds for many network and BreadCrumb parameters.
Data Management Applications—3rd party applications can be created using BCAPI to log, sort, forward or store network and BreadCrumb parameters.

RRADS – THE HUB FOR ADVANCED NETWORK ADMINISTRATION & MONITORING
RRADS is an advanced network administration, monitoring and diagnostic tool that automates many of the functions typically performed by remote network support personnel.
With RRADS, users of Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh Networking technology gain ready access to performance and usage data from Rajant BreadCrumb nodes on the network, and use this information to make necessary adjustments and optimize network performance without consulting technical support.
Each RRADS unit consists of a ruggedized CPU running an array of advanced software tools. Accessible via any web browser, it tracks the performance of network components via native API communications with BreadCrumb nodes. Equipped with up to three radios (to match the frequencies of those in the network’s BreadCrumbs), RRADS performs packet capture across the network, and provides a graphic representation of node connectivity.
RRADS leverages Rajant’s robust BC|Commander, along with additional tools, to provide complete, flexible, and actionable control over the entire network.
Cacti is a data trend graphing tool allows users to visualize BreadCrumb performance and usage data in a familiar format. Typically used for SNMP, a customized installation of Cacti has been included by Rajant to work with its BreadCrumb API on RRADS.
Another innovative tool, NACK, automates the customer support function by analyzing the network snapshots taken in BC|Commander. After post-processing the data from BC|Commander, NACK generates an HTTP-based report, which allows users to easily analyze BreadCrumb configuration and interconnectivity.
