OilComm: Solving Communications Challenges for the Oil & Gas Community

Every year we look forward to attending the OilComm Conference and Expo in Houston.  It is the one show that is solely focused on solving communications challenges for the Oil & Gas community – and that makes it very important to Rajant.  This year, attendance soared 26 percent over 2012, and it seemed that most of those folks found their way to Booth #520.

As most of you reading this know, the shale oil and gas industry is in a state of rapid expansion.  The need for a reliable, flexible, scalable and multi-frequency broadband networks is critical to the continued success and long term goals of these operations and the industry in general.

It just so happens that one of our newer customers operates in a massive oil shale field stretching across West Texas.  They recently deployed our Kinetic Mesh technology and we were able to share their experience with the hundreds of guests we met at our OilComm booth.  This installment now stands at 300 nodes and is growing in number.  What did they value most from the Rajant solution: constant connectivity and the ability to run dozens of applications simultaneously (remote monitoring, video surveillance and much more).

Rajant customers also value how quickly we get their Rajant Kinetic Mesh network up and running.  This is no more important than it is in the fast-paced shale oil and gas business.  Especially when states are calling for additional monitoring requirements and upgraded broadband communications networks.

Our experience with large deployments in various environments has also taught us that the switch-over to a single network architecture can be completed without sacrificing up-time.  It requires planning, multiple frequencies, and some Rajant ingenuity, but consolidating to a single network for all voice, video and data gives organizations the ability to realize the true value of all their data.

Shows like OilComm are great venues for Rajant.  Not only can we talk about ourselves, but we get to listen to each of you.  We can take what we hear back to our engineers and development team and keep our offerings on the leading edge.

I can talk with you about our technology.  I can blog about it.  But the one thing I’d rather do, is take you to one of our deployments so you can see our technology firsthand and how we’re solving communications challenges for organizations just like yours.

See you at OilComm 2014, you know it’s on our calendar.
